BeltLine Progress + New Local Restaurant
Get excited- there is progress being made! As you may have noticed- the Eastside Atlanta BeltLine has been progressing in the past month. They are finally starting to dig up and level some of the soon-to-be paved trail. This portion of the trail will pick up right across the street next to Irwin Street Market where it leaves off and go south to Kirkwood Avenue in Reynoldstown. That portion of the trail will be considered phase I while phase II will extend that trail to Memorial Drive. Currently, phase II is still in the funding process. It is a great time to be a part of the excitement and be able to have the BeltLine right outside your door!
A beer garden/bar concept attached to Irwin Street Market called Lingering Shade is being opened in the next coming months. Lingering Shade will be offering a 52 foot long bar, a deck that will wrap around the front entrance to the BeltLine side, as well a couple of televisions to watch the big game on. The overall type of restaurant they are projecting is to be a southern-inspired type of place. Some of their featured staples will be their specialty hot boiled peanuts, pimento cheese, deviled eggs, plenty of craftily made cocktails.
